Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Policy
1. Purpose & Scope
Riphah International University, Faisalabad, is committed to producing ethical leaders and researchers who demonstrate integrity, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their academic and personal lives. This policy applies to all students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs, both on-campus and off-campus, including during internships, fieldwork, and university-sponsored activities.
2. Guiding Principles
Our conduct standards are grounded in Islamic values, fostering an environment of mutual respect, discipline, and academic excellence. Every student is expected to:
- Uphold honesty, fairness, and respect for others.
- Promote peace, cooperation, and a positive learning atmosphere.
- Avoid behavior that harms the university’s reputation or disrupts its operations.
3. General Conduct Expectations
- Show respect and courtesy to faculty, staff, fellow students, and visitors.
- Be punctual for all academic sessions, examinations, and official events.
- Participate actively in academic and co-curricular activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and protect university property.
- Follow the prescribed Islamic dress code and always wear the university ID card on campus.
4. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action:
- Violation of Islamic obligations (Faraid) or involvement in activities contrary to Islamic values.
- Academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, cheating, and fabrication of information.
- Disrespect or misconduct toward teachers, staff, or fellow students.
- Damage, theft, or unauthorized use of university property or resources.
- Possession or use of prohibited items, including firearms, explosives, intoxicants, or illegal drugs.
- Engaging in gender mixing beyond approved academic or professional interactions.
- Participation in unauthorized gatherings, protests, or strikes on university premises.
- Smoking anywhere on campus.
- Any conduct that disrupts teaching, research, or administrative functions.
5. Disciplinary Actions
Violations of the Student Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following penalties, depending on severity:
- Verbal or written warning.
- Fines or compensation for damages.
- Temporary suspension from classes or facilities.
- Revocation of scholarships or privileges.
- Expulsion from the university.
All disciplinary actions will be reviewed by the Proctorial Board / Disciplinary Committee, and students will have the right to present their case before final decisions are made.
6. Enforcement & Review
- Faculty, administrative staff, and security personnel are authorized to report misconduct.
- Students are responsible for knowing and following the latest rules and guidelines as issued by the university.
- This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure alignment with Islamic values and global academic standards.
