Dress Code Policy

1. Purpose & Scope

The dress code at Riphah International University, Faisalabad, reflects our commitment to promoting modesty, professionalism, and Islamic values in the academic environment. This policy applies to all students across undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs, as well as during internships, clinical rotations, fieldwork, and university-sponsored events.

2. Guiding Principles
  • Dress should be neat, clean, and professional.
  • Clothing must reflect Islamic ethics, avoiding anything immodest, tight-fitting, or transparent.
  • Students must wear their University ID card at all times while on campus or representing Riphah outside the university.
  • The university reserves the right to deny entry to students not complying with the dress code.
3. General Rules for All Students
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance at all times.
  • Avoid ostentatious jewelry, flashy accessories, or extreme hairstyles.
  • Prohibited items: baggy pants, jeans, T-shirts with slogans, sleeveless tops, shorts, miniskirts, jackets with offensive prints, and joggers (except for sports activities).
  • Wear footwear appropriate for an academic setting — no slippers or flip-flops.
4. Summer Dress Code

Male Students

  • Dress pants with a full-sleeve shirt and necktie, OR a decent shalwar qamees.
  • Dress shoes with socks.

Female Students

  • Clothing must adhere to Islamic values — no thin or tight fabrics.
  • A scarf large enough to cover the head, neck, and upper body is mandatory.
  • An abaya is required when moving between university buildings or entering public areas.
  • Shoes with small heels are recommended.
5. Winter Dress Code

Male & Female Students

  • Woolen pullover with “V” neck and/or blazer.
  • Clothing must remain modest and aligned with Islamic values.

Additional Requirements for Female Students

  • Scarf/head covering is mandatory at all times.
  • Shirts must have full sleeves without slits.
6. Enforcement
  • Security staff and faculty members are authorized to check dress code compliance at entry points and in classrooms.
  • Repeated violations may result in warnings, fines, or disciplinary action.
  • Students representing the university in public forums, conferences, or competitions must follow formal dress guidelines as specified by the event coordinator.
