About Riphah Food Science & Technology Lab
The Riphah Food Science & Technology Lab delivers structured, hands-on practicals that connect classroom theory with food industry applications. Students work in core areas including food chemistry, microbiology, preservation, and processing under faculty supervision and strict SOPs. Emphasis is placed on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in line with national and international guidelines. Scheduled practicals cover proximate analysis, pH and acidity testing, sensory evaluation, product formulation, and basic packaging methods. Guided sessions train students in proper documentation, equipment calibration, and Good Laboratory Practices to ensure reliable and reproducible outcomes. The lab encourages teamwork, creativity, and reflective learning through product development exercises and case-based tasks. By combining structured training with applied practice, the lab equips graduates with the knowledge and technical skills required for careers in food industries, research, and quality assurance.
