Health, Safety & Security Policy

1. Purpose & Scope

Riphah International University, Faisalabad, is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and secure learning and working environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This policy applies to all university campuses, hostels, laboratories, clinics, sports facilities, and university-sponsored events.

2. Guiding Principles
  • Safety is a shared responsibility of all members of the university community.
  • The university promotes preventive measures to avoid accidents, injuries, and security risks.
  • All health, safety, and security practices must align with Islamic values and legal requirements.
3. Health & Medical Services
  • On-campus first aid facilities are available during working hours.
  • Emergency medical cases will be referred to the nearest hospital.
  • Students with chronic medical conditions must inform the Student Affairs Office and provide relevant medical records.
  • The university organizes periodic health awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
4. Safety Measures
  • Fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and evacuation plans are installed and maintained in all buildings.
  • Regular safety drills are conducted to prepare for emergencies.
  • Laboratory safety protocols must be strictly followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Hazardous materials must be stored, handled, and disposed of in accordance with safety guidelines.
5. Security Measures
  • 24/7 security personnel and CCTV surveillance are deployed on all campuses and hostels.
  • Access to university premises requires a valid University ID card.
  • Visitors must register at the security gate and obtain a visitor pass.
  • Unauthorized entry into restricted areas is prohibited.
6. Prohibited Items & Activities
  • Weapons, explosives, drugs, and intoxicants are strictly prohibited.
  • Physical violence, theft, or vandalism will result in strict disciplinary and legal action.
  • Tampering with safety equipment or security systems is a serious offense.
7. Emergency Response
  • In case of an emergency (fire, earthquake, security threat), students and staff must follow posted evacuation routes and instructions from safety officers.
  • The Emergency Response Team (ERT) will coordinate all actions during a crisis.
8. Reporting Incidents
  • All accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or suspicious activities must be reported immediately to the Security Office or Health & Safety Officer.
  • Reports will be documented, investigated, and addressed promptly.
9. Training & Awareness
  • All students and staff will receive safety orientation during induction.
  • Regular workshops and drills will be conducted to reinforce safety and security awareness.
