Program Overview

The PhD in Islamic Studies program is designed to produce competent scholars with deep knowledge of Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic thought. It focuses on research, innovation, and critical analysis of contemporary issues in the light of Islamic teachings, preparing graduates to contribute to scholarship, leadership, and social development.

Students in this program engage with classical Islamic sources while exploring modern ideologies, philosophies, and global challenges. With advanced training in research methodologies and Da’wah techniques, they develop the skills to analyze social, cultural, and intellectual issues and provide Islamic solutions for the welfare of humanity.

The PhD-IS program at Riphah International University, Faisalabad, prepares graduates for academic, research, and professional leadership roles. Eligibility Criteria

For Pakistani Nationals
  • Minimum 18 years of education (MS/MPhil in Islamic Studies or equivalent) from an HEC-recognized university with 1st Division or a CGPA of 3.00/4.00.
  • Candidates must pass the University Admission Test with at least 70% marks or the GRE Subject Test with at least 60% marks, as per HEC policy.
  • Final selection is based on a departmental test and interview conducted by the PhD Admission Committee.
