Program Overview
The PhD in Sociology program is designed to produce graduates with advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to address educational, academic, and societal needs. It focuses on equipping students with deep knowledge of sociological theories, research methodologies, and thematic areas essential for understanding complex social dynamics.
About Program
Students in this program are trained to conduct original research on social structures, cultural change, governance, health, education, gender, and other contemporary issues. Under the supervision of experienced faculty, they develop the ability to critically analyze social institutions and interactions while formulating solutions for national and global challenges.

Eligibility Criteria
For Pakistani Nationals
- Minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 in the semester system or 1st Division in the annual system in MPhil/MS or equivalent in Sociology, Criminology, Cultural Geography, Cultural Studies, Demography/Population Studies, Ethnology, Gender Studies, or Social Anthropology.
- Final selection is based on the relevance of prior studies, as determined by the departmental admission committee, in line with HEC and Academic Council guidelines.
