Message from HOD
Physical Therapy restores movement, function, and quality of life. At the Department of Physical Therapy, we are committed to value-based, internationally benchmarked education that prepares compassionate, competent clinicians and leaders for Pakistan and beyond.
Restore Movement. Renew Lives.
Through rigorous coursework, mentored practice, and hospital-based clinical training, we develop graduates who can evaluate, diagnose, and manage movement-related impairments with evidence-based care and professional ethics—ready to serve individuals, families, and communities.
About The Department
Established in 2014, the Department of Physical Therapy set out to build a Rehabilitation Sciences program of international repute, known for quality and values. Our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is an HEC-endorsed professional degree comprising 10 semesters (5 years). Learning is anchored in well-equipped labs and hospital attachments that ensure progressive clinical exposure from foundational skills to advanced practice.
The curriculum integrates foundational sciences—anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, kinesiology—with clinically focused courses across musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, pediatrics, geriatrics, sports, and community-based rehabilitation. Graduates are prepared to be practitioners of choice, providing diagnosis, intervention, and prevention for movement-related impairments, activity limitations, participation restrictions, and environmental barriers.
Program Educational Objectives: By graduation, students will be able to (1) deliver specialized manual therapy for musculoskeletal conditions; (2) serve as responsible healthcare team members and assume leadership roles in their communities; (3) contextualize social, economic, and cultural determinants of practice and advocate effectively for policy improvements; (4) apply manual therapy techniques safely and effectively; (5) adopt only evidence-based techniques; and (6) assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal conditions to international standards. The DPT also aligns with global requirements, supporting smooth equivalency abroad and opening diverse clinical and advanced-study pathways.
