Message from HOD

Safe anesthesia care depends on precision, teamwork, and ethical practice. At the Department of Anesthesia Technology, we develop professionals who understand the science of anesthesia, master modern equipment and monitoring, and uphold the highest standards of patient safety across the pre-, intra-, and post-operative continuum.

Precision. Safety. Teamwork.

Through simulation, supervised clinical exposure, and evidence-based training, learners build technical competence, judgment under pressure, and effective interprofessional communication—so they can support anesthesiologists and surgical teams with confidence and compassion.

About The Department

About The Department
The department focuses on the principles, technologies, and workflows that underpin contemporary anesthesia services: airway and ventilation support, hemodynamic monitoring, pharmacology of anesthetic agents, infection control, equipment management, quality assurance, documentation, and patient communication. Learning takes place in skills labs and operating-room environments through standardized scenarios and faculty mentorship.

Our culture emphasizes ethical conduct aligned with Islamic values, continuous improvement, and service to community health. Research awareness, safety drills, and morbidity–mortality learning loops help cultivate reflective practitioners who can adapt to evolving technologies and standards.

Departmental Training Outcomes
Graduates/trainees will be able to:

  • provide safe, patient-centered support before, during, and after anesthesia (general and regional/local);
  • ensure patient safety and comfort while applying and maintaining anesthesia equipment and monitors;
  • meet national/international professional standards and practice ethically;
  • apply evidence-based techniques and exercise sound judgment, especially in crises;
  • communicate clearly with patients and coordinate effectively within surgical and critical-care teams;
  • engage in community partnership and education to promote perioperative safety.
