Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghuffar

Head, Department of Physics

Message from HOD

Physics is the most fundamental science—exploring the building blocks, forces, and laws that govern everything from subatomic particles to galaxies. At the Department of Physics, we nurture curiosity, mathematical rigor, and experimental skill so students can understand nature deeply and apply that understanding to real-world problems.

Discover. Question. Model the Universe.

We make physics approachable and exciting through concept-driven teaching, problem-solving workshops, and hands-on lab work. Guided by a PhD-qualified faculty and supported by well-equipped teaching and research laboratories, students grow as thinkers, innovators, and responsible professionals.

About The Department

The Department of Physics provides a solid foundation in core areas—mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum physics, and modern physics—anchored in mathematical formulation of nature’s fundamental laws. Our curriculum emphasizes clear conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and the ability to translate theory into experiment and technology.

Learning is practice-rich. Students engage in carefully sequenced laboratory courses, data analysis, scientific writing, and faculty-mentored projects that cultivate precision, creativity, and teamwork. The department houses basic experimental labs for foundational skills and advanced research facilities that enable exploratory work aligned with contemporary scientific directions.

Our goal is to produce graduates of international caliber with strong problem-solving ability, computational literacy, and research aptitude. Alumni are prepared for diverse pathways—graduate studies, R&D roles, education, and technology-intensive industries—contributing to high-quality research and innovation for societal benefit.
